The 2020 harvest will be early once again this year in the Languedoc (after the record of 2017). The first whites were harvested before August 15, which is extremely rare, but this vintage looks seriously promising. The very heavy rainfall in autumn 2019 helped recharge the water tables, the winter was then mild and dry and the warm, wet spring gave a good start to the vegetation. The remainder of the season was generous, as the fruit will be, with a dry summer ensuring excellent plant health conditions for the early harvest. 2020 will be a year to be remembered for many reasons, but we can reasonably hope that one of these reasons will be the quality of its wines.
